© РЮНТЮ O МЕРКЬЮРИ Yuri Matthew Ryuntyu: Yuri Matthew Ryuntyu: Once upon a time, sounds like a magic story began, I was employed by Rudolf Nureyev as a personal storywriter about his lifestyle, ancestors and the world achievement in the ballet business. So, I’d like to talk to you about the fascinating love story between Freddie Mercury and Rudolf: 1987-91. He told me: “I met beloved Freddie in a German nightclub (Berlin: 1986) and we started to talk not in English. Farsi was a common language between us, such a situation amused everyone around and everybody cheered ‘woohoo-hoo-hooo’. Nobody expected us to behave like that at all. This secret language created an instant love match between us and it was indeed an explosion of mutual love. This feeling of fascination for each other never left us...” Nobody talked in the media about such 'positive nonsense'. I think this is a goal for us, to make people memorize and break their mental routine of how two Muslims; so much in love - could come to meet each other without English. Only Farsi is a schoolboy language of Tartar (Tartar State: Russia) and Iran (Freddie Mercury’s family cultural roots belonged to the Zoroastrian religion). On the orders of Rudolf Nureyev, I have written and published two bestseller books in Russia. First of all, “Rudolf Nureyev: Without Make-UP” (1995) which sold over 300,000 copies to date in Russian (2008). Rudolf Nureyev ordered me to write this book about his private environment: ballet achievement in the world as a superstar and family background from Russia... Patrick White and Rudolf Nureyev began the project in 1984. In its initial stage; it was a lot of discussion and conversation between these two great creators. They were very lucky to gain the support of Andy Warhol spiritually and financially. Actually, the donation was not in cash but came in the form of one of Warhol’s famous paintings. Unfortunately, Andy Warhol died in 1987. The situation became worse with the frequent hospitalization of Patrick White (1988-89), and as Rudolf’s condition deteriorated as his suffering from AIDS intensified (1990-91). The worsening of their situation became publicized after the death of Patrick White (1990) and Freddie Mercury (1991). Such psychological pressure began to kill Rudolf Nureyev mentally and as his physical health began to collapse, he panicked as he searched for the right person to push forward the collective dream of great people knowing that he would soon no longer be able to complete his project. He felt like a bird without wings, dead before his own funeral. The miracle happened through an agreement between Yuri Matthew Ryuntyu and Rudolf Nureyev to begin the project again from scratch and to work to the end. Rudolf Nureyev explained to Yuri Matthew Ryuntyu the financial conditions for the project’s support. In other words, Andy Warhol donated $250,000, Patrick White $120,000, Freddie Mercury $500,000, and Rudolf Nureyev over $2,200,000 for future the finances. After Rudolf Nureyev’s funeral (1993), everything was well organized until 1998 when the money ran out. So, Elizabeth Taylor (U.S.A.) became the financial sponsor (donating $125 000) along with her closest friend, Michael Jackson (USA: $250 000). Yuri Matthew wrote 35 books about the Russian intellectual elite, one thousand life histories. He met personally over eighty Russian stars and recorded their histories to be heard. “Why do we need these?” - Rudolf Nureyev asked. “Because we need life experience from these people and only on the basis of life experience can we make predictions for the future without states self-destruction and international wars...” - he underlined. “I wish good luck for Russia, but I would like to know the true color of the future for such a great civilization with over one thousand year’s historical record. Please remember...” - he said. “We have in Russia two hundred year old theaters, two hundred and fifty years of ballet and music as well as a great and the most fascinating literature and poetry to be found in the world which is over five hundred years old. Think about and be proud to keep this tradition well and fruitful from the beginning to the end of such a fascinating cultural project.
